I fell in love with this shrub at the Chicago Botanic Garden. It took me a few days to find out what it was because we were “driven out of the Garden” by a lightning storm.
It turns out it is Variegated Weigela Florida, beloved by bees and other pollinators everywhere. I ordered one on Amazon (they sell everything!!) and will be planting soon.

It is, I think, the prettiest Weigela, although their period of interest is pretty short unless you grow a clematis over them during the summer. Christina
The foliage is pretty all season. The clematis idea is a good one!!
I had no idea Amazon sold plants… They do seem to sell everything..huh!
I’ve gotten quite a few plants from Amazon. Good and cheap!! 🙂
Do you have any particular vendors that you prefer on Amazon?
Speaking of bargains I purchased at our local Walmart 2 1gallon pots of unknown variety of Alliums (a particular garden Faver of mine – and bees,) for 3 dollars per pot! There’s at least 3 bulbs in each pot.. I’m thrilled… And will be happy with whatever Allium variety makes her appearance:) Happy gardening… Neinah
I’ve had good luck with Hirt’s Gardens, but I ordered this shrub from someone else. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Yes, for all its sins, Walmart is a good garden source. 🙂

I’ll have to look into the Amazon and plants thing. I guess they are taking over the world…
They are. I always said what the world needed was a good all night bookstore… 🙂
