These green beans are DIVINE. The longer you cook them the better.
1 lb fresh green beans; trimmed
a dash of salt
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp seasoned rice vinegar
a dash of sesame oil
2 tsp honey
1/4-1/2 tsp hot chili flakes, depending on how much spice you want (I like a lot!)
1 Tbsp olive oil
a pinch of sesame seeds
Mix together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, olive oil, and chili flakes. Boil water in a large pot and add beans and salt. Cover and cook, stirring once, until beans are bright green and still crunchy, 8 or 9 minutes. Drain and rinse beans in cold water. Stir soy sauce mixture and add to pan, bring to a boil, and add the beans. Cook to desired doneness.
