This is the way we celebrate the Day in my neck of the woods. 🙂
Ingredients:
1 Quart Mason Jar
Honey
Jameson’s Irish Whiskey or a brand of your choice
Directions
Pour approximately 2″ of honey into a clean quart Mason jar.
Fill the remainder of the jar with the Irish Whiskey.
Slowly stir with a wooden spoon until the honey is dissolved into the whiskey.
Serve neat. Don’t drive anywhere.

You probably know this recipe already. When my son was 3 or 4 he had such a bad chest cold that I thought it was pneumonia. Dr’s just kept giving him antibiotics that did nothing. Now Grandmother, (notice how I capitalize her title?) mixed up a brew of whiskey, honey, pat of butter and lemon juice. Warmed it in a drink shaker on the pilot light of the stove and dosed my child every 4 hours. He was well in days. I still use that for serious chest colds. Works better than anything you can buy. That little bit of alcohol didn’t hurt him or his brain. Nor is he a drinker. I tell people it will cure anything.
I didn’t know it, but I believe it!! Honey is naturally antiseptic and antibiotic. I will post!! 🙂
